Balang fish
 
 
 
The scientific name is Decapterus maruadsi, belonging to the family Decapteridae and genus Decapterus.
 
 
 
The fish body is spindle shaped, slightly flattened on the side, and has a large mouth. The fat eyelids are well-developed, reaching both front and back to the eye, with only a long slit exposed in the center of the pupil. The posterior end of the upper jaw of the Balang fish is relatively blunt and round. Body covered with small round scales. There is a lateral line, and all or most of the straight part of the lateral line has ridges and scales. The ratio of pectoral fin length to head length varies with the size of the fish body. There is a white spot on the top of the front of the dorsal fin. Warm water pelagic fish, distributed from Hainan Province, China to southern Japan; In the East China Sea, it is mainly distributed along the coast of Fujian, China and is one of the economic fish species in the South China Sea.

The back is light ink cyan, the belly is silver white, and each fin has slightly yellow and light ink edges. The flesh of silver pomfret is white, tender, and less spiny, with a protein content of 16.76% and a fat content of 5.03%.
